ATTENTION HALLOWEEN ROUND-UPS

Three Great Halloween Events in One Venue – The Everleigh Social Club

Chicago’s most exciting new private arts club, The Everleigh Social Club, is playing host to THREE Halloween events that are open to the public.  The decadent venue, owned and operated by international burlesque superstar Michelle L’amour, will be jam packed from October 20th through October 30th to celebrate the spookiest time of year.

Experience a unique Halloween entertainment – equal parts history, mystery and magic. Step into the Everleigh Social Club and enter a shadowland where fact and folklore intermingle in surprising ways. With magician David Parr as your guide and host, you’re sure to encounter the strange and supernatural: objects seem to move of their own accord, cryptic messages are conveyed by invisible hands, hidden thoughts are revealed…

In addition to his skills as an actor and magician, David Parr brings to the role a dash of gallows humor, a penchant for the macabre, and an uncanny eye for the odd aspects of the past. Urban legends, poltergeists, and psychic powers are his Halloween treats, and he’ll share them with you!

“Halloween is my favorite holiday,” says Parr, the creator of Haunting History. “But it seems like most Halloween activities are aimed at children or teenagers. There are plenty of grown-ups who enjoy the costumes and ghost stories and excitement of Halloween as much as I do. Why let the kids have all the fun?” Which is Mr. Parr’s way of saying that no one under age seventeen will be admitted to Haunting History. It’s Halloween for grown-ups!

Opens October 20th.  Final Show October 29th.

$15 in advance, $20 at the door.

Gather around the campfire (literally) as the founding chapter of the internationally acclaimed literary salon brings the Third Annual Naked Ghouls Reading Halloween event.

The girls will be reading scary selections from childhood ghost stories, nightmarish folktales and the occasional monster.  There is no better way to spend your Halloween weekend than with a bevy of beautiful ladies scaring their own pants off.

The Toronto Globe and Mail calls it “The most provocative literary series in the world” and NBC2 Chicago says it’s “…a MUST!”

“If you like goosebumps, you’ll be able to see them all,” says founder and creator Michelle L’amour.

Friday, October 28th at 7pm
